Flexman City Council Estate

Brixton, London

A sunlit, modern kitchen in Brixton, London, featuring stainless steel appliances, open shelves with neatly arranged dishes, a hanging guitar on the wall, and a small indoor potted plant by the window, representing urban living in the Flexman City Council Estate.

This project involved the complete transformation of a council apartment into a bright, open space that meets the modern needs of the owner. The key challenge was reconfiguring the existing layout to maximize light and create a sense of openness. We carefully redesigned the apartment's floor plan, removing unnecessary walls and optimizing the flow between rooms to enhance the natural light and create a more spacious feel. In addition to the structural changes, we focused on creating flexible spaces that can adapt to the evolving needs of the owner. This included designing multifunctional areas that can be easily adjusted for different uses, ensuring that the apartment remains functional and stylish in the long term. The choice of furniture played a crucial role in this transformation. We selected pieces inspired by mid-century design, which blend seamlessly with the owner's personal style. The result is a harmonious interior that balances timeless elegance with contemporary comfort. This renovation successfully turned a dated council apartment into a modern, vibrant living space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, reflecting the owner's taste and lifestyle.

A bright, modern living room features a minimalist design with a light green sofa, a wooden coffee table displaying books and a plant, black chairs with patterned cushions, and a bold black-and-white striped rug, set against a backdrop of large windows and a well-stocked wooden bar in the corner.
A modern bathroom with sleek white tiles features a glass shower enclosure, a white sink with a chrome faucet, and wooden accents, creating a clean and minimalist design.
