Rowan Rosie, born in Glasgow and now based in London, creates vibrant abstract paintings in oil and acrylic, blending intuitive colour work with gestural brushstrokes that hint at the natural world, travel, and human emotion. Layers of paint and colour fields infuse her work with depth, light, and a sense of freedom, inviting viewers to question how we experience reality and imagine new possibilities.
A graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (BA Fine Art, 2016), she received multiple awards, including the John Guthrie Prize for Painting, a solo show at Wall Projects II, and inclusion in the Art in Healthcare collection. Time spent travelling after graduation profoundly shaped her artistic outlook. Since returning to Scotland in 2019, she has exhibited widely, including at The Lemond Gallery and The Royal Scottish Academy, and collaborated with institutions such as the National Galleries of Scotland to deliver community-focused art programmes.
