This neighbourhood wine store and bar in Hackney was designed to feel less like a commercial venue and more like an extension of the owner’s home. Inspired by their Tuscan roots, the space celebrates everyday rituals of wine, hospitality, and conversation.
A palette drawn from natural cork tones grounds the interior in warm, earthy hues that echo the wines on display. Upholstery, textured wall coverings, and ceiling treatments introduce subtle outdoor references a suggestion of a Tuscan courtyard brought indoors. The bar joinery reads as domestic furniture, allowing guests to witness the serving ritual while maintaining a relaxed, residential character.
Within a compact footprint, the design amplifies intimacy rather than scale, creating a space that feels welcoming, tactile, and deeply personal.
